DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM FOR HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS DETECTOR
AND ELECTRONICS DESIGN, ACCESSIBLE VIA INTERNET,
TO SUPPORT JOINT DEVELOPMENTS OF NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CENTRES.

The Department of Electronics of the Institute for
High Energy Physics is involved in designing, manufacturing and
putting into operation soft- and hardware systems to automatize
physical and technological experimental facilities and benches.
Modern computational techniques, modular electronics and new programming
methods are widely used in its activity.
The Department comprises scientific laboratories which
develop apparatus and software, a design laboratory and workshop
manufacturing electronics apparatus. The work is done by highly
qualified scientific specialists, system engineers, programmers,
designers, technological engineers and highly skilled workers. Many
of them have worked for long periods of time in the largest scientific
centers of Europe and the USA in the context of international collaboration.
The technical basis of the Department incorporates contemporary
integrated automated systems for the designing and production of
electronic apparatus. It includes: - CAD/CAM of electronic apparatus,
using AutoCAD and P-CAD packages combined with a local PCs network
and workstations; - a system, issuing design documentation and producing
technological preparatory work with further transfer of the control
information through interface lines directly to the automated technological
equipment; - manufacturing, based on modern imported technological
automated equipment, that provides the production and control of
multilayer printed circuit boards (up to 12 layers) of the sizes
up to 500 x 500 mm and 3d - 4th classes of complexity of drawing,
assembling of the apparatus, its tuning at automated work places
and thermal and vibration tests. - the server of project data base
which provide a access to data base by Internet network for remote
users (including and for another scientific centres).
